When I first started this blog it was my intent to accompany my cathartic rants with a few miscellaneous tidbits reflecting my own personal fancies. A primary category I wanted to include was a section for book reviews. To date I believe I have given once such "review", if I can call it that.
On this occasion though, I want to give a book recommendation instead...sans review. Frankly, I haven't a clue of the contents within Geert Wilders new title, Marked For Death, and in all truth, I really don't care. If for no other reason, I have purchased the book to support the author.
I won't tread into laborious details on who Geert Wilders is, and why we should care. Instead I would refer you to my previous post on this courageous Dutch patriot, and to the interwebz. What I will say is that Wilders is a genuine hero to my mind, and deserving of your support as well.
Add to this my absolute delight that the foreword is by none other than the great Mark Steyn, and it is for me an absolute must. Said foreword by Mr. Steyn is to me a remarkable stamp of approval in terms of quality. Although I may not be intimately familiar with any previous prose from Wilders, Steyn is a heavy-weight in my opinion. In fact, if you order the book from his website (here), he will even sign the book for you! (Check out Marks books as well. You're already there, and they are fantastic!).
